Most people are never trained on how to run high-stakes collaborative meetings. Everyone is trained on how we do presentations. That is one failure of the dominant training starting with school and continuing into professional design and construction work. The fundamentals of complex collaborative facilitation don't include presentations. I can't think of having seen or heard a story of kids being taught how to collaborate.
